On the occasion of the exhibition “summer of love: art, fashion, and rock and roll” we invite you to take part in the #OurSummerOfLove Instagram photo competition organized by the PalaisPopulaire.
Participate in our Instagram photo competition and win a flight ticket to San Francisco or Berlin or one of three Polaroid cameras!
The exhibition:
In collaboration with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the PalaisPopulaire presents more than 150 documents and objects from the legendary “Summer of Love”: psychedelic art, iconic rock posters, Flower Power fashion and costumes, interactive music and light shows, avant-garde films, and rare photographs and record covers. The exhibition “summer of love: art, fashion, and rock and roll” resurrects the “Summer of Love” from 1967 at the PalaisPopulaire.
Here‘s how to take part:
Create the grooviest picture of the summer, inspired by the legendary “Summer of Love” in 1967!

Take a photo focusing on summer, fashion, or music! - “Make it groovy!”
- “Upload!“
Upload the photo on Instagram with the hashtags #OurSummerOfLove, #PalaisPopulaire and with the tag @PalaisPopulaire!
Filters, stickers, colors, patterns, a prism, or very individual special effects? Let yourself be inspired by the exhibition “summer of love: art, fashion, and rock and roll” and become creative yourself. The photos should have a link to summer, fashion, or music and with the help of filters, stickers, or special effects be edited by digital or analog means to create the feeling of the “Summer of Love”.
Prizes
- Win a flight to San Francisco or Berlin plus a private guided tour at the De Young Museum in San Francisco or the PalaisPopulaire in Berlin!
- Other prizes include three polaroid cameras and an instant film packet.
We will present the winning photos at the beginning of September on the PalaisPopulaire’s Instagram and Facebook channel.
Conditions of Participation
To be eligible to take part in the photo competition you must be a natural person using your own name and at least 18 years old when you enter the competition.
A prerequisite for participation is that the participant has an Instagram account in his or her own name. The Instagram profile must be public.
Participation in the photo competition is free of charge. Multiple participation is permitted.
