Through a global open call, BJP International Photography Award aims to discover the very best in contemporary photographic talent around the world.
Photographers from every background are invited to submit one body of work weaving a distinct and compelling narrative on any topic. Submissions will be judged by a panel of leading industry figures, who will choose one body of work from the Solo Show category to be exhibited in a London gallery. This year, the judges will also be seeking to award 20 single winning images as part of the Group Show category.
Now running for over 15 years, BJP International Photography Award has proved instrumental in launching the careers of some of today’s most respected photographers, including Juno Calypso, Daniel Castro Garcia and Felicity Hammond.
Between a month-long solo show in the Solo Show category, a group show as part of the Group Show category, extensive industry exposure, international media coverage and features in both British Journal of Photography print magazine and BJP-Online, BJP International Photography Award offers a unique platform for global photographic acclaim.
We encourage submissions from photographers of all levels, based anywhere in the world. Solo Show entries should be from a substantial interconnected project on any topic.
Prizes
The award is split into two categories, the Solo Show category and the Group Show category. One winning body of work from the Solo Show category will be exhibited in a solo show at TJ Boulting Gallery, London, UK. 20 winning images will be exhibited from the Group Show category in London, UK
The winner of the Solo Show category will receive:
- Your own solo show at TJ Boulting Gallery, London
- £5000 production grant for solo show
- Travel & accommodation to London to attend the opening of your solo show
- 4-page supplement in British Journal of Photography
- International press coverage
- Three year 1854 Full Access subscription, including a print subscription to British Journal of Photography
Second and Third place of the Solo Show category will receive:
- A 2-page supplement in British Journal of Photography
- International press coverage
- A year-long 1854 Full Access subscription, including a print subscription to British Journal of Photography
The 20 winning images of the Group Show category will receive:
- An exhibition as part of a group show in London, UK
- International press coverage
- A feature on BJP-Online
