Prizes: publishing of book, voucher worth €1,000 and €2,000, presentation at international photo events
The KASSEL DUMMY AWARD is the dummy competition for the best unpublished photobook mock-up of the year. Together with our cooperation partners, the festival invites all photographers worldwide to take part. 50 books will be selected for the shortlist and exhibited in Kassel and at other international photo events. 3 winners will be chosen by an international jury. The winner of the First Prize will be produced and published.
Who can enter?
Any photographer from around the world who accepts the following conditions can participate by registering for the competition and submitting an unpublished work as a physical book. All books published digitally or by self-publishing in small print-runs or through a photobook-publishing platform like blurb can be submitted.
Summary
Of all the entries made we require physical printed books sent to us by the photographers/authors. From all the printed books, around 50 books will be selected for the shortlist that will go on an international exhibition tour. The final jury will choose the 3 winners from among these 50 exhibited books.
Award
- The book that wins First Prize will be produced by the leading Turkish photobook printing and binding house MAS, Istanbul in cooperation with the Kasseler Fotografie Festival gUG, Kassel, Germany.
- The winners of the Second- and Third Prize will get a production voucher worth 2.000 and 1.000 Euro for future projects donated also by our partner MAS, Istanbul.
We will still do our very best to show all shortlisted books at several international photography events as planned in Melbourne (Australia), Zagreb (Croatia), Dublin (Ireland), Istanbul (Turkey), Cluj (Romania), Aarhus (Denmark), Madrid (Spain), Angkor (Cambodia), Rome (Italy), Milan (Italy) and more (to be announced).

- We charge € 36,00 per entry and book
There is no limit to the number of entries per person.
