CPOY – College Photographer of the Year

CPOY - College Photographer of the Year

Deadline: September 21, 2020
Entry Fee: Free
Prizes: National Geographic internship, Nikon equipment, scholarships

As we live through these historic times, we invite you to enter your images and stories in the 75th College Photographer of the Year competition.

Entry is free, courtesy of Nikon Inc. and their 14-year commitment to CPOY. The entry deadline is 11:59 am Central Daylight Time (UTC-5; noon, NOT midnight), Monday Sept. 21, 2020. Please help yourself and us by entering early to avoid last minute questions.

Honors include an internship at National Geographic magazine, Nikon digital SLR camera gear, NPPF scholarships, and tuition or fellowship to several photography and documentary workshops.

We have a new entry process with Picter.com, so pay close attention to guidelines, rules and the particularly critical Ethics Clarification. Our biggest tip is to name your files and fill out your photo metadata before upload – it will save a lot of time! You will need to create a free account with Picter, which gives you easy access to other high level contests, such as Pictures of the Year International (POYi).

In recognition of these unprecedented times, we are introducing two special categories: “COVID” in the single image category and “The COVID Experience.” This multiple image category includes both documentary stories and more conceptual work that can reflect your personal experience. In coordination with POYi and POY Latam, we are creating an archive to preserve these stories and memories.

Judging will be held virtually, October 22 – November 2. Stayed tuned for details and how you can watch! Please check CPOY’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages (@CollegePhotog) for updates.
