Professionals, photo-amateurs and voluntary associations are invited to participate in the 6th edition of the “Objective Solidarity” competition, whose main purpose is to capture through images the sense of the values enclosed around solidarity, hospitality, social inclusion.
The 2020 Edition will also aim to photographically represent solidarity at the time of COVID-19: is it a feeling that we rediscovered because of the pandemic? Have our lives changed in the need for volunteering in private, public, community areas? Have we once again recognized the need for others? How did the support we gave or received manifest? Prizes
The first three classified photographs will receive a cash prize – € 1,500, € 800 and € 400 respectively, and the “Photo with the Best Message of Solidarity”, an absolute category prize closely linked to the mission of Mercies, will be awarded with the 750th Anniversary Mercy of Siena medal.
For the edition of the “Objective Solidarity” 2020 competition, which will take place in a year marked by the emergency COVID-19, an additional prize is foreseen for the work that best expresses “Solidarity at the time of the pandemic”, to which a voucher of € 200 will be assigned to be used to purchase Libera Terra products.
The “Best Photographic Project” (composed of 6 photos) and the “Best Artistic Expression” (both single photos and projects up to 6 photos) will receive a Special Mention from the Jury.
The prizes will be delivered during the award ceremony that will take place on September 19, 2020 at 5.00 pm at the headquarters of the Misericordia of Siena, during the Feast of Brotherhood. Awarded authors (who will be directly informed), must compulsorily participate in the award ceremony, under penalty of forfeiture.
Copyrights & Usage Rights
All the collected works, which have passed the jury’s selection, will be published on the website and on the social channels of the Misericordia di Siena, which organizes the competition, citing the author. In addition, for the works deemed worthy by the jury, the author will be asked to authorize the printing and display in a suitable venue for their disclosure.
For the winning works, the authors will be asked to donate a print of the selected image to make it the object of a charity auction in favor of “Adopt a Family”, the fundraising campaign promoted by the Misericordia di Siena.
The organizers and curators undertake not to use the images presented commercially and not to transfer them to third parties, the rights of exploitation and diffusion of which remain the exclusive property of the authors, with the exception of what is explained in this paragraph.
