Let us see Europe through your eyes!
Discover Europe 2020 is the seventeenth edition of the largest paneuropean photography competition for students. Once again, we inspire, discover and share what is most important to us – the concept of our common home, which is Europe.
We have been here since 2004 to get to know your visions of the Old Continent, and the goal and assumptions of the competition remain the same from the beginning – establishing intercultural dialogue between Polish and foreign students and supporting aspiring young photographers.
The proof of the special value of our competition is the 2nd prize awarded in 2013 in the. Charlemagne for non-profit projects organized by the European Parliament.
The Contest is divided into three categories:
- Discover People
various images of the citizens of Europe - Discover Nature: Through Green Lenses
presenting the beauty of Europe’s nature and promoting learning, awareness and pursuit of global environmental sustainability - Discover Architecture
capturing unique places, which Europe covers
Additionally, in the Discover Nature: Through Green Lenses category you can submit your photos in thematic sections:
- a. Threats to the Environment and Climate
reporting situations or places where human activities endanger the environment or the climate. - b. Proudly Reporting: Pro-Environmental Efforts
journalistic images showing initiatives aimed at protecting natural resources and the climate (any kind of environmental protection activities or educational campaigns). - c. Green Mile: Sustainable Mobility Ideas
images depicting interesting ideas and initiatives around green mobility – how can we reduce emissions and noise in the transport industry.
The course of the competition
Pictures can be sent from March 1st to March 31st. Then, the professional jury will select 10 best photos in the Discover People and Discover Architecture category, as well as 3 best photos in the Discover Nature: Through Green Lenses category. What is more, 6 special prizes will be awarded to the laureates in the thematic sections from the Discover Nature: Through Green Lenses category. The authors of the chosen photos will be invited to the Final Gala, where the official results will be announced, and the winners will be awarded. The Gala will be held in May in Warsaw.
