The Photoville FENCE is a year-round public photography project exhibited in major parks and downtowns across North America.
The Photoville FENCE is open to photographers from all around the globe. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.
Featuring over 85 photographers annually, the exhibition brings compelling visual stories into the public realm, and to a wide and diverse audience.
Photographers are invited to participate by submitting their work for consideration by a jury of over 50 international art professionals. The resulting exhibition is presented in 9 cities (and growing!) in partnership with local cultural and civic organizations – Atlanta, Brooklyn, Boston, Calgary, Denver, Durham, Houston, Sarasota and Seattle.
We welcome everything from documentary & photojournalism to fine art & conceptual work, and everything in between. What makes The Photoville FENCE special is that it’s a celebration of photography and visual storytelling, in all its many forms.
The winners of the 9th edition of The Photoville FENCE will be announced in June 2020.

– 40 artists will have their work exhibited in large-scale public exhibitions in 9 cities across North America, reaching an audience of over 8 million viewers
– Additionally, over 45 artists will have their work displayed in Regional Photographers Showcase exhibitions across North America.
Entry Fee
- Each photo series entry costs $30 if entry is submitted by the Early Bird Deadline (March 6, 2020)
- After that, each photo series entry costs $35 to submit (through April 14, 2020)
Each photo series entry must consist of no less than 5 and no more than 10 images
