Our main incentive is to support all form of photography and provide a platform for audiences seeking exciting new work. Through our photography competitions, we invite photographers of all backgrounds and experience levels to submit and share their best work. Our goal is to shine the spotlight on photography that breaks the mold and inspires fellow emerging artists.”
Eligibility
Our photography competitions are open to photographers worldwide. Professionals and amateurs of any age are eligible to enter.
We accept images that have been exhibited or published elsewhere. There are no limitations concerning when submitted images were made.
Each competition is judged independently, and PhotoChronicles users are permitted to submit the same set of images more than once.
Categories
- Street
For our street competition, we are looking for any sort of image that portrays an urban environment or public place. As images are judged individually, we do not require that images be a part of the same series. Users are permitted to submit up to five images to be judged. - Portrait
Portraiture photography must feature one or more people. We accept any orientation or image aspect ratio the artist desires. As images are judged individually, we do not require that images be a part of the same series. Users are permitted to submit up to five images to be judged. - Documentary
No story is too large or small to be considered for our documentary category. All we require is that the photos all be a part of a single, coherent body of work that communicates a narrative. In order to be considered for the documentary award, we require users to submit at least five images, but no more than twenty images per story.
Street photography competition
Get exhibited in New York
Our next exhibition will exhibit the work of 24 photographers. Aside from being an opportunity to gain international exposure, selected photographers will also have the opportunity to sell their printed work. The street photography competition is judged by master photographers Alex Webb & Rebecca Norris Webb. Each month’s there will be 10 winning images. The 1st place and 2nd place winner will be exhibited in our end of the year exhibition.
You can submit up to 5 images. It is a single image award so each submited images are judged independently from one another.
Documentary photography competition
Receive your fine art photobook
In an effort to provide exposure and build a wider audience for emerging storytellers, 3 winners will be receiving coverage on our website and the 1st prize winner will be offered the opportunity to have his work featured in his own physical photobook publication, designed and handcrafted by us. The competition is judged anonymously by our own editor to ensure that future books will correspond perfectly to our publishing criteria.
You can submit one series (from 5 to 20 photos 1 statement) depicting significant events or simply everyday life stories. Your images must connect one to another and form a coherent body of work.
Portrait photography competition
Win $1000 cash prizes
We will work in conjunction with this month’s guest juror, James Heimsath – associate photo editor at National Geographic, to curate a selection of 10 winning portraits that illustrate the most captivating photos the genre has to offer. The winning photographers will be receiving coverage on our website and the 1st prize winner will be presented with $1000 cash prize.
You can submit up to 5 images. It is a single image award so each submited images are judged independently from one another.

- Valid 3 months with no recurring payment. Pay once and submit to all three competitions, each month for the next 3 mont.
