Pride Photo Award is an annual international contest for photos about sexual (LGBT) and gender diversity. We are looking for top quality photography on the following topics:
- non-stereotypical images of gender, masculinity and femininity
- the diversity of the LGBT community
Categories
Unique: 2019 Theme Category
For the 2019 edition we are looking for special stories images of special (LGBTIQ+) people. The theme covers both surprising angles and innovative ways of telling a story about sexual and gender diversity, as stories that focus on unusual and unique LGBTIQ+ indivuals or groups.
Entries that combine both a unique approach and a unique subject around the topic of sexual and gender diversity, have the best chance to win in this category.
Stories
This is a broad thematic category for photo series that tell a story about sexual and gender diversity. This includes but is not limited to documentary photo series. Stories entered in this category do not have to be related to the theme ‘Insiders / Outsiders’. If you feel your series could fit equally well in this category and in the theme category, we advise to enter it in the theme category.
Single Images
This is a category strong photos that convey the message of sexual or gender diversity in a single image.
Single images entered in any of the three other categories will automatically be transferred to this category.
Open Category
Photo series about sexual and gender diversity that do not fit in any of the above categories may be entered in this category.
Some photos or series will fit in more than one of the above categories. Any image can be entered in one category only.
Participation
- Single images must have been taken in the period starting on 1 January 2016 and ending August 25th 2019.
- Photo stories/series must have been completed or first published in the period starting on 1 January 2016 and ending August 25th 2019.
- The number of unique photos entered as a series may not exceed a number of 10 photos.
- The number of unique photos entered into the 2019 contest as a whole may not exceed a number of 30 photos.
- Any unique photo may be entered in no more than one category.
- Images not (yet) published may be submitted.
- Images that have won a prize or a special mention in a previous edition of Pride Photo Award cannot be submitted again. Images that were entered in a previous edition but not selected by the jury may be entered again.
