The New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) invites photographers world-wide to submit images using any photographic process (print, image transfer, emulsion transfer, encaustic, black and white, color etc.).
Winners will receive a total of $3,000 in cash awards, be featured in the NYC4PA Online Gallery and Award Winners Catalog. The Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page. Cash prize winning and Juror Selection images will be featured in a New York Gallery Exhibition at Jadite Galleries September 24 – October 5, 2019.
Dusk to Dawn
Pick up a camera for the first time and odds are the images taken will be in full daylight. Learn about sun glare, flat light, shadow….. But then your world expands as you explore opportunities from the rest of the 24-hour day from DUSK to DAWN. That time, from that bewitching hour when it isn’t quite dark, through the night, to the early blue semi brightness that envelops your world in morning, provides huge opportunity for spectacular images.
Capture the softness of light at dusk and at dawn. Take long exposures of the moon and stars in the sky. Create night photos of lit office buildings, headlights in motion, streets, houses etc. and find a wonderful subject where a black night sky provides a dramatic background. First and last peeks of sunlight can provide some amazing opportunities as well.
Exhibition and Awards
There will be 10 cash prizewinners, 15 Juror Selections and 20 Honorable Mentions
Cash Prizes
- Grand Prize: One photographer will receive $750. The image will be featured on the home page of the NYC4PA website.
- First Prize: 3 photographers will receive $300.
- Second Prize: 3 photographers will receive $250.
- Third Prize: 3 photographers will receive $200.
NYC Gallery Exhibition
All Cash Prize winner and Juror Selection images are eligible to be shown at an NYC4PA Exhibition. Details will be included with the congratulatory Email.
Online Gallery, Catalog and Award Certificate
All prizewinners will be included in both the online gallery and catalog and be presented with a certificate.
To Enter
The entry fee is $35 for the first three images. Additional images may be submitted for $10 each. There is no limit to the number of images submitted.
